Andrea Mason, Expo Director said “This 3rd annual expo was a great opportunity to meet the people in our community who are also passionate about green buildings, sustainable design and great lifestyle products. It is very inspiring to see…and gives hope for a more sustainable future for us all.”
Over 45 stallholders were present to sell, advise and entertain the crowds including builders, designers, solar systems, bushfire attack level ratings, CFA, Landcare, banks, food and lifestyle products. They were kept very busy and many have expressed interest in coming again next year as this Expo crowd meant business!!
A Big Thankyou!!
All our sponsors played an integral part in the success of the day.
Gold sponsor Powercor Australia was on site to talk to the community about Australia’s largest grid-scale battery installation in Buninyong.
“As an innovative energy distributor, we recognise our increasing role in assessing energy trends and enabling new technologies to facilitate changing energy choices.
“We are proud to have been the Gold Sponsors of the 2016 Smart Building and Living Expo and look forward to working with the Buninyong community as we take significant steps towards shaping Australia’s energy future,” said Mr Scholten.
Thank you to the fantastic businesses and local groups that made up the stallholders. It was obvious that the crowd were enjoying learning from you! We hope you'll be back!
Thank you also to all those who helped on the committee, in the preparation, on the day and with the cleanup.
Social Success at the Auction!
A highlight was the Fundraising Auction, thanks to PRD Nationwide, which raised $640. Our donation tips the total to over $15,000 of the $36,000 required to install solar panels on the roof of Ballarat Regional Industries' (BRI) factory in Sebastopol.
Paul Duggan from BREAZE said “We are delighted to be involved in this sustainable event and are grateful to the Buninyong community for supporting our Social Solar Project”
If you would like to contribute or see the wonderful stories of those who have already, go to www.breaze.org.au.
Perhaps next year we will have a Buninyong solar project…
The Smart Building and Living Expo will not get off the ground without the help of our sponsors and supporters!
